You may have heard Alex Ovechkin will be featured on ESPN's E:60, a "60 Minutes"-style program revolving around sports' biggest personalities. An e-mail from the Capitals Media Relations team said this was the first E:60 profile of an NHL athlete to ever grace the program.
But, they're forgetting one other athlete who was profiled on E:60 -- Sean Avery.
According to Caps Media Relations workers, ESPN's filming of the Ovechkin E:60 started around this time last year, but the Avery feature was shown in September before the NHL season started.
The connection between the two? Rachel Nicols is the reporter for both features. How odd that the two players are now meeting in the playoffs.
