Now that the first round of the playoffs is officially in the books, and the second round is ready to start, it's time to see how Capitals Kremlin super-dog Rodney the Pomeranian fared against his human counterparts.
Here's how ESPN fared:
Barnaby went 7/8.
Buccigross went 6/8.
Burnside went 7/8
Hradek went 7/8
Lebrun went 6/8
Melrose went 6/8
Rodney went 6/8 and made up for his boneheaded pick of the Blues with a ballsy pick of the Ducks.
But how about Rodney's biggest competition in both the "cuteness" and "animal" department, Maggie the Monkey? Maggie, who has been prognosticating for TSN for quite some time, is retiring after this year's playoffs, and it's obvious she's in the twilight of her career.
Maggie was 2/8 in the first round, picking San Jose, Calgary, Columbus, New York, Philadelphia, and New Jersey incorrectly.
Looks like there's a new beast in the "animal prediction" market, and his name is Rodney. Oh and we're almost 100 percent sure that it's possible Rodney was the one who called ESPN and tipped them off about Mike Green's "suspension." I mean, looking at his picks, you'd believe him too, right?
