The Caps are a hot item in D.C. Hot enough to sell out the arena for every playoff game, hot enough to inspire fans to dress up as Ted Leonsis and now hot enough to inspire a rapper to put a few rhymes on the Internet in support of his favorite team.

His name is Incwell and, while he may not be as high-profile as the "other" Capitals rapper and rising rap star Wale, it's just another sign that hockey in Washington is reaching more than the stereotypical white businessman fanbase.

Short, sweet and quite ridiculous, but also family-friendly. Not a single f*** you and no cheapshots at Sidney Crosby, not bad. I also happen to think any rapper who can work "March of the Penguins" into a rap deserves some sort of recognition.

Turns out Incwell has done other raps for D.C. teams such as the Washington Redskins

Anyway, here's the lyrics:

The bodies on the ice go boom boom pow
The road to the Stanley Cup
Two more down
They say it's pretty hard to balance your fate
When your skating down the ice with Alex the Great
So turn the mic up
The fat lady started singing
The Caps anthem to crush the march of the penguins
I hate to jinx us
So better not say it
But now I keep it tight
And just dye the hawk red
Where's the love?
This is war so don't ask me for any
If you're skatin' down against my boys from Capital city
Let the bodies hit the ice.

Not bad, and considerably better than the embarrassing DC anthem "DC Clap" from Da Committee Boys.
