Some breaking news to report here...
Law Enforcement in Tampa Bay, Florida, arrested a couple on charges of possession of and intent to sell steroids late Tuesday night. But that's not why we're posting about it, it's because the accused, Richard Thomas, claims to have sold steroids to members of the Washington Capitals and Washington Nationals. He also boasted about selling to athletes all over the world.
"What investigators aren't sure of is whether Richard Thomas, 35, is telling the truth when he says he is the biggest steroid provider in Central Florida and that he sold mostly to professional athletes, including those on the Washington Capitals hockey team and Washington Nationals baseball team."

This guy is the biggest steroid dealer in Central Florida? Considering how weak the Capitals defense was, and how many soft checks many of the Caps forwards and defenders throw, sorry to say it, but your steroids suck if it's true. I mean, I think we would have known something was up if Alex Semin or Nicklas Backstrom sent someone flying through the glass, but still, while I can believe that NHLers may be juicing, I'm not totally convinced it's anyone of major importance on the Capitals.
Here's more from Thomas.
"The sheriff said when Richard Thomas was asked if he had sold steroids to professional athletes, he replied, " "You name the sport, and I've sold steroids to athletes who play it."
No players were named, and considering that this story is in its infancy I wouldn't put much faith in this guy's ramblings right after he's been arrested. I'm interested to see how the Capitals and NHL respond to these charges, mainly because the Capitals organization runs a pretty family-friendly operation, and NHL Commish Gary Bettman believes that steroids are not a part of the NHL's culture.
Of course, Caps fans should prepare for a barrage of Internet dolts accusing Ovechkin of being the prime suspect, as this story is likely to spiral out of control in the next few days. Get ready for a good ole' fashioned witch-hunt in our backyard.
Update: Here's some food for thought as we as a fan base begin the witch hunt. Many former Capitals play in Tampa Bay and this dealer is based in Central Florida, so it's entirely possible that he's referencing a former member of the Capitals. Not entirely sure why of all the athletes that Thomas has supplied he only mentioned Washington teams, but we'll find out soon enough I suppose.

This is true of any team in any sport.
