Carlson At Center Of Pronger Trade Request Again

If Caps fans needed a sign as to how good prospect John Carlson is, once again the Anaheim Ducks placed him at the center of a trade for veteran defender Chris Pronger.

From Capitals Insider -- "McPhee said the asking price was one of the Caps' goalie prospects (Simeon Varlamov or Michal Neuvirth), prospect John Carlson, a roster player and "something else..I said this is not the direction we need to go in."

The last time the Capitals pursued Pronger the asking price of a goalie prospect, Alzner and Carlson  proved to be too much.

Chris Pronger was finally dealt to Philadelphia in a blockbuster trade that sent the veteran to Philly in exchange for two first round draft picks (2009, 2010), Joffrey Lupul and Luca Sbisa.

Talk about pricey. Obviously the Flyers intend to win now, but with two first rounders out of their hands and Pronger's contract to end next season, that's some awfully thin ice to be skating on.

Yup, the price was WAY too high. Flyers actually got him for less than they wanted from us. Phuck Pronger!
